One Lucky Guy

Hey! My name is Jack Nycz and I'm a digital designer who usually carries the title of "Product Designer" or "UX Designer" depending on the project. I'm a Georgia boy through and through, but I currently reside with my beautiful partner Shelby, this lovely pupper named Presley and a super chill cat named Naava in beautiful Seattle, Washington.

Professionally I started on the front-end development side of things working for a WordPress shop in Atlanta, Georgia called Southern Web. I had always designed as a hobby as my old man was in the print industry when that existed so I bugged my boss for months to let me take on a design for a smaller client, and I finally wore him out.

Well, he screwed up and I did a pretty spot-on job and the client was super happy so he had to let me keep designing stuff. Now it's a decade and a half later and thanks for giving me a shot big man!

GoFan - Product Designer

Sep 2023 - Pres
Redesigned the entire user experience for online platforms for the largest high school streaming network in the nation. Focus on quick navigation to the target subject for users with minimal navigation. Implemented several user features to improve experience using knowledge of user profiles and preferences. Worked with the AI team to improve application of guided channels and recommended content.

PureCars - UI/UX Designer

Jan 2023 - Aug 2023 (contract)
Improved user experience for a Digital Asset Management tool integrated with APIs containing finance information for car dealers. Designed, prototyped and assisted implementing redesigned UI for new features including email design, asset management, auto-updating and saved designs.

NAPA - Product Designer

Jan 2022 - Jan 2023 (Contract)
Designed, prototyped and user-tested a new eCommerce design system for NAPAonline.com and its associated apps/platforms/portals that increased conversion rates ~160% for a $183 million online store (on pace to shatter that number in 2023). Worked with the UX research team to put together required components for an optimized user flow for item search and vehicle identification. Used data-driven research to help standardize visual design across company offerings.

Inovalon - UI Designer/Developer

Aug 2020 - Jan 2022
Lead the UX/UI efforts for a new online healthcare SAAS suite. Worked with patients, doctors and admin personnel to define personas and test throughout. Designed, prototyped and user-tested interfaces for VirtualCare video conferencing tool, patient/doctor portals, appointment tools, and admin dashboards.

AirTight Design - UI/UX Designer & Developer

Aug 2014 - July 2020
Designed and prototyped Manheim Express application, used to speed up the trade-in process for sales people at automotive dealerships. Handled design and worked on front-end development for websites and applications for a multitude of clients including:

Autotrader • Cricket Wireless • Manheim • Kelley Blue Book • Cox Automotive • COX Media • ACT • Old 4th Distillery

Southern Web - Designer & Front-end Developer

Nov 2011 - Aug 2014
Designed and developed websites for medium to large clients. Extended coding knowledge and became a theme-developer for WordPress sites. Helped expand a small team to a medium-sized business with multiple partners and income avenues. Worked with multiple design teams, dev shops and our own project managers throughout the design and development process.
